POSITION DESCRIPTION FOR CUSTODIAN

QUALIFICATIONS
 Good physical abilities.
 Ability to read and follow instructions; be dependable.
 Ability to work cooperatively with groups in the church.
 Must have fingerprints on file with the FBI. No criminal convictions.

LINE OF AUTHORITY
 Senior Pastor as supervisor.
 Relates to Trustees for their input.
 Staff Parish Relations Committee to function as personnel committee.

RESPONSIBILITIES
 Check weekly schedule, wall calendar, and with the Church secretary for activities of the week. Do this on a daily basis.
 Monitor and report any maintenance needs to the Chair of Trustees in writing on an as needed basis.
 Set up and take down as required and directed for Church meetings, activities and for outside groups, as directed per activity planner.
 Clean and mop kitchen weekly and as needed. Maintain a supply of paper towels.
 Clean, sanitize, supply and mop all restrooms in the Fellowship hall weekly and as
needed, and once a week in Sanctuary building. Check all restrooms daily.
 Clean glass doors and windows on a rotational basis, and as needed.
 Dust, clean and vacuum weekly and as needed. Spot clean carpet as needed.
 Sanctuary, Fellowship hall, choir and bell choir rooms, Sunday school classrooms, pews;
vacuum as needed.
 Nursery; sanitize changing area.
 Offices and reception area, check and take out trash on a daily basis.
 Make sure chairs are set in Fellowship Hall at all times, unless otherwise directed.
 Make sure Sanctuary and Church campus are secure after Sunday services.
 Take care of all recyclable items.
 Shop for cleaning supplies as needed.
 Participate in weekly staff meetings and staff development as required.
 Sweep or clean entryways to all church buildings as needed.
 Other responsibilities as appropriate to this position.
